ABOUT THE ARTIST
Eugene "Edaw" Wade is an experienced painter and art professor with over 60 years of experience in the world of art. His work can be seen on the city streets of Chicago and within the walls of Malcolm X College, Kennedy King College, and Howard University. He signs his paintings creatively as EDAW, also Wade spelled backwards.

We’re intertwined
Our souls collide
Then we divide
We’re faced with obstacles
From multiple directions
Then we return
To deal with life's pressures
The fort we build is an unbreakable bond
Try to burn one you may burn us all
Despite our differences,
Our colors still glow
Like a rainbow
Or more like a forest full of soul

The sounds that they make
Are the sounds that we take
So when we give props
We need to set the record straight
The noise that they shared
Came from Rhythms & Blues
From a place so deep
It was sure to move you
With horns that could blast
Legacies that would stand
And blow you away with the music that would last
Great musicians of our time
Came correct in their prime
And the way we repay them
Is with these simple nursery rhymes?
